Select an alloy for the application
ADC12 and A380 are common die casting alloy choices, but the material should follow your mechanical, thermal, corrosion and finishing requirements. Confirm the alloy specification with the part drawing.

High-pressure aluminum die casting is suited to repeat production of complex metal components. The combination of the alloy, mold design and controlled process creates the starting point for a finished functional part.

Casting can produce ribs, bosses and complex profiles, while critical bores, threads and sealing surfaces may need CNC machining. Defining these operations early helps establish useful casting datums.
Dimensional requirements, permitted surface conditions and any leak or functional testing should be agreed during the project review. Requirements that affect porosity or cosmetic finish need specific process planning.

Review the part before cutting steel. Resolve draft, filling, cooling and ejection in the tooling design.
