Magnesium Die Casting Programs

Material and manufacturing review for lightweight magnesium components.

Magnesium Die Casting Programs
OUR CAPABILITIES

Magnesium Die Casting Programs

A magnesium component program starts with the reason for choosing the material: component weight, geometry, mechanical requirements and the intended environment. We review the proposed alloy and tooling route alongside machining and protective finishing, then define the manufacturing and validation scope for the actual part.

  • Alloy and application suitability review
  • Mold geometry, filling and release planning
  • Machining and protective finishing requirements
  • Sampling, inspection and agreed validation documents

01

Choose the material against the requirement

AZ91D and AM-series magnesium alloys serve different application needs. A material selection should use the specified alloy standard and required component properties, rather than a broad claim about the entire material family. Share the operating environment and functional requirements for review.

02

Plan the complete manufacturing route

Tooling, casting, trimming, machining and finishing affect one another. Identify the final assembly datums, critical fits and protected surfaces before the mold design is released. Magnesium processing requires equipment and procedures appropriate to the alloy; process suitability is confirmed with the project scope.

03

Include protection and validation

Coating, fastener interfaces and contact with other materials can affect the finished component. Define the protection system, masked surfaces and any required exposure or functional tests before sampling. The quotation records the operations and acceptance documents included in the program.
