Match the finish to the alloy
A finish suitable for one substrate may behave differently on another. Alloy chemistry, surface condition and porosity can affect appearance and coating adhesion.

Surface finishing affects appearance, corrosion performance and assembly. We review the substrate, coating, masking and visible surfaces so that finishing is part of the manufacturing plan from the beginning.

Threads, electrical contacts, bearing fits and sealing faces may need masking or post-finish machining. These interfaces should be identified in the drawing and finishing specification.
Specify color, gloss, texture and permitted visual variation. Agree reference samples and any corrosion or adhesion testing before production begins.

Review the part before cutting steel. Resolve draft, filling, cooling and ejection in the tooling design.
